The Vaginal Microbiome: Your Body’s Silent Shield

Your vagina has its own ecosystem, tiny microbes working around the clock to keep things balanced, protected, and healthy. When it’s in check, you feel it. When it’s not, you really feel it.

This balance can get thrown off by antibiotics, hormones, or even stress. And that’s when issues like BV and yeast infections show up. The good news? You can support your microbiome. Knowing how it works is the first step.

OUR FOUNDER

Meet Carlotta

The Solvey story begins with my own.

For years I struggled with UTIs and yeast infections, often triggered by things as simple as a day at the beach or a new soap. I kept hearing the same advice: more antibiotics, stricter diets, fewer risks. But nothing truly worked.

The more I searched, the more I realized how many women were going through the same thing. Quietly, repeatedly, and without real answers.

Solvey was born from that frustration. I wanted something gentle, effective, and backed by science, not fear. Something I could trust. So I made it.

How do you maintain vaginal health?

To maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome, consider the following tips:

  1. Practice good hygiene: Gentle cleansing of the vulva with water is sufficient. Avoid harsh soaps and douches.
  2. Wear breathable underwear: Cotton underwear allows for better air circulation.
  3. Avoid tight clothing: Tight clothing can trap moisture and heat, creating a breeding ground for bacteria.
  4. Limit antibiotic use: Antibiotics can disrupt the microbiome.
  5. Consider natural remedies: Boric acid suppositories are a natural and effective treatment for certain vaginal infections.
